Set up Agent
Add the Agent shortcut to your iPhone, connect your setup key, and run your first request.
Shortcuts AI runs through Apple's Shortcuts app, so there is no separate Shortcuts AI app to install. Setup adds one shared shortcut to your iPhone and connects it to your account.
Before you start
Open the Shortcuts AI setup page on your iPhone and sign in. The setup page provides the current Agent shortcut and a personal setup key.
Treat the setup key like a password. Do not include it in screenshots, messages, or public posts.
1. Continue setup
Tap Continue Setup. Shortcuts AI copies your setup key to the clipboard and opens the Agent installation screen in Apple Shortcuts.
If Shortcuts does not open, return to the setup page and try again. The page also lets you copy the key before opening the installation screen manually.
2. Add Agent to Shortcuts
Review the shared shortcut, then tap Set Up Shortcut. When Apple Shortcuts asks for the setup key, paste the value that Shortcuts AI copied. Tap Add Shortcut to finish.
The Agent tile now appears in your Shortcuts library.
3. Run your first request
Tap the Agent tile and describe the result you want in plain language. For example:
Save a blueberry muffin recipe to Notes.
Agent works out the steps and sends the supported device action to Apple Shortcuts. Notes opens with the new recipe.
The first time Agent uses an app or protected system feature, your iPhone may ask for permission. Review the request and choose whether to allow it.
Keep going
You can run Agent from Shortcuts whenever you have another task. You can also start it with Siri, the Share Sheet, an Action Button, or a Home Screen widget. See Ways to start Agent for each option.
If setup, permissions, or a request fails, use the troubleshooting guide.
